Project summary:

Background:

Based on partners’ cooperation on previous projects, we have come up together with this topic and have agreed to work on it together, as we have agreed that the unique ability of sports to transcend linguistic, cultural and social barriers makes it an excellent platform for strategies of adaptation and fostering the inclusion and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Objectives:

The main aim of the project was: Building capacity of youth (work) organisations, their youth workers in NFE for youth SPORT work with/for different abilities’ youngsters. Among the objectives of the project most important ones were supporting youth workers to further develop their competencies, develop cooperation between youth sector and other stakeholders, develop competency framework and engage into extensive dissemination of 5 developed project outputs/results.

Implementation:

All our activities were based on the values and principles of non-formal learning, active participation and experiential learning. According to these values and principles we envisioned the flow of this project, starting with the development of intellectual outputs, then practicing workshops from the outputs on the local level with youngsters and training courses, and on the conclusions from the workshops adapting and finalising the outputs.

Results: Main results of the project were 5 developed outputs: 1 handbook, 2 curriculums, 1 toolkit and 1 guidebook, all aimed at youth workers. Project engaged with 45 young people and raised their knowledge and skills during a youth exchange, 57 youth workers during 2 training courses, and 20 youth workers as part of a study visit. 20 youth workers were actively involved in the monitoring of the project and have participated in preparatory and evaluation meetings of the project.
